- N atural fibre which obtained from lignocellulosic biomass has various advantages especially in product development due to its abundance and ability in mechanical properties. Currently, sugar palm fibre (SPF) has been emerged as promising fibre reinforcement in composite industries to form as high strength and stiffness biocomposites. Currently, numerous researchers have took initiatives to implement SPF in packaging sector as well as transport uses such as lifeguard boat. Some works have been proved that the SPF reinforced polymer composites exhibit high mechanical strength as well as remarkable properties in thermal degradations. Based on literature survey, no review has been carried out on discussing in the topic o f mechanical and thermal behaviour o f SPF-reinforced thermoplastic composites. This review is expected to develop an overview on on SPF/thermoplastic composites in order to provide a good source of literature for doing further research on this topic.
